LP-2000™ Control Unit
Our Laser MicroMap™ systems are supported by the LP-2000™
Control Unit, which controls the laser and
processes the detector signals. This rugged and fieldworthy
instrument is well-suited for use both in the laboratory and
in the field.
The modular flexibility of the
LP-2000™ Control Unit provides NDT professionals a cost-effective
and
powerful tool that integrates easily with existing NDT systems.
Laser Control
The LP-2000™ controls the laser in
one of two modes: Local or Remote. In Local mode, the laser is held at
one of three pre-set power levels. The operator may choose the power
level with a switch on the front panel. In Remote mode, the LP-2000™
maintains the optimum laser power based on the signals received from the detector.
The LP-2000™ Control Unit also has the
SmartLaser™ feature, which allows the system to operate at full
power during inspections but drops the power to an eye-safe level when
a target is not within the sensor's measuring range.
Signal Processing
The LP-2000™ Control Unit amplifies and processes the raw detector signals
generated by laser profilometry sensors to
produce surface profiles and
LaserVideo™
images. It offers flexibility in detector amplification
with three pre-set gain levels. |
